Description

In this module, factors underlying the choice and manipulation of raw materials in ancient ceramic production are discussed, followed by an examination and discussion of forming, decoration and firing techniques, and the archaeological evidence for them. The module includes the laboratory manufacture of experimental pots and their subsequent analysis; these are then compared to ancient pottery.
